New Dances | R.S.C.D.S Hamilton and Clydesdale

This page is dedicated to recent and newly devised dances
by members and friends of the RSCDS Hamilton and Clydesdale Branch.

The dances are sometimes inventive and experimental in nature
and may not appear in Scottish Country Dancing books,
or in other sites – not yet!

We hope that our visitors will try out these dances and we welcome your feedback, compliments and suggestions.

Indeed, please send us your own compositions and dances
for us to try in turn.

Observing dances, either on-line or when dancing, and enjoying the music has intrigued me as to how to devise a dance .

Scottish Country Dancing is an enjoyable experience . I have enjoyed dancing with the RSCDS Hamilton and Clydesdale Scottish Country Dancing group, and others .
I wanted to convey this feeling of friendship and joy in the first dance and with Alison’s help we devised Cœur à Cœur .

I am indebted to the Alison Robertson, of the RSCDS,
for her encouragement and advice when devising the dances ,
and to the dancers for their patience and understanding .

Fairy Lights is the Winter Dance of a Four Seasons Suite .
All dances in the Four Seasons Suite are 4 couple Dances ,
either Strathspeys or Jigs.

as Storm Amy approached and red alert warnings were issued.

Dancing In Lanarkshire

Crossing The Wee Bridge to East Kilbride

The dance is dedicated to the Red Deer Scottish Dancing Group which meets in East Kilbride. The Wee Bridge , an old coach road bridge and listed structure , is on Newhousemill Road between Hamilton and East Kilbride. The bridge is infamous for the numerous daily incidents . Not for the feint of heart.
